Sharon Lee Thiesfeld, age 67 of Mound, passed away on Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. A memorial service celebrating the life of Sharon Thiesfeld will be held at 4 p.m. this Friday April 5, 2013 at the St. John Lutheran Church (2451 Fairview Lane) in Mound with Rev. Tim Johnson as officiant. Interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Norwood Young America. Visitation at the church Friday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Serving as urn bearers are Erik Thiesfeld, Nathan Thiesfeld and Aaron Thiesfeld.
Sharon Lee Thiesfeld was born on Jan. 21, 1946 in Glencoe, the daughter of Hillard and Leatrice (Flusemann) Thiesfeld. After graduating from the Central High School in Norwood Young America, Sharon attended Cosmetology School. Along with a friend, Sharon operated a beauty salon in Mound for 14 years which they called Shar-Lyn. Being confined to a wheelchair due to an injury to her legs from the 1965 tornadoes that damaged her parent’s home where she was living at the time, Sharon had to leave her beauty salon business.
Sharon enjoyed collecting miniature furnishings and doll houses, reading and doing all kinds of word puzzles. She was very helpful to the other residents of Westonka Estates where she lived. Sharon cherished the time spent with her family, especially her great nephews and nieces.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Hillard and Leatrice Thiesfeld, step-father Norman Schwich, and her grandparents.
Sharon is survived by her loving family: brother and sister-in-law Dale and Gloria Thiesfeld of Backus; nephews Erik and Jill Thiesfeld, Nathan and Jeanne Thiesfeld, Aaron and Jill Thiesfeld; great nieces and nephews Mackenzie, Mitchell, Noah, Madelyn, Natalie, Mckenna, Taylor, Teagan and Talia; step-brother and sister-in-law James and Amy Schwich; aunts and uncles Lillian Zastrow of Amboy, Leona Schwarzrock of Gaylord, Anita Thiesfeld of Glencoe, Pat and Harlen Flusemann of Norwood Young America, Don Hron of Baudette; as well as other relatives and many dear friends.
