Dahle K. ‘Buddy’ Plocher, age 88, of Waconia passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
Funeral Service was held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church (601 East 2nd St.) in Waconia with Rev. Phil Wagner as officiant. Visitation was Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waconia.
Dahle K. “Buddy” Plocher was born Nov. 23, 1924 the son of Walter and Ida (Moldenhauer) Plocher in Chaska. He was baptized on Dec. 21, 1924 by Rev. O.H. Schmidt at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chaska. He was later confirmed in the faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church on March 17, 1940 by Rev. Otto Kohn. On April 19, 1946 Dahle enlisted in the United States Army at Ft. Snelling and served until his Honorable Discharge on Oct. 18, 1947 at Point Ft. Lewis Washington. Dahle was awarded the Victory Medal. Dahle was a member of the Waconia American Legion.
Dahle worked as a machinist for Lake Engineering in Long Lake. Dahle suffered the death of his wife Bernie Willems in March of 1986. He was united in marriage with LeIsle E. Domres at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by Rev. Robert Schaeffer.
Dahle loved gardening and prided his tomatoes and canned goods. He loved fishing, spearing, smoking his pipe, watching westerns and the Andy Griffith Show, creamed herring, head cheese and listening to Old Tyme music.
Dahle is preceded in death by his wife Bernie, son-in-law Dennis Heacock, father and mother Walter and Ida Plocher, brothers Albert and Floyd Plocher, sisters Vernice Randall and Jewell Tietz.
Dahle is survived by his loving family: wife LeIsle Plocher of Waconia; sons and daughters-in-law Ken and Diane Plocher of Mayer, Larry and Jackie Plocher of Waconia; daughter Joanne Heacock and fiancé Ron “Mort” Worm of Norwood Young America; step daughters and step son-in-laws Natalie and Roger Sauter of Cologne, Emily and Bill McFarland of Carver; grandchildren Shawn Plocher, Jill and Jon Schmidt, Julie and Chris Johnson, Mark Plocher, Brett and Stacy Plocher, Scott Plocher, Amber Heacock, Dahle Heacock, Taryn and Jim Brown, Tristi and Najib Mechlaoui; step grandchildren Timothy and Amy Sauter, Kelly and Vickie Sauter, Matthew McFarland; great-grandchildren Jessica, Trevor, Kate, Lauren, Matthew, Keelan, Lucas, Kaley, Vangy, Malak, Ryanne, Adam; step great-grandchildren Rebecca and Janelle; step great great grandchild Sophie; sister Mae Schmid of Victoria; sister-in-law Jane Plocher of Green Isle; brother-in-law Eugene Willems of Norwood Young America; sister-in-law Vernice Menth of Michigan; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Serving as casket bearers the grandchildren.
