Nedra E. Domjahn
Nedra E. Domjahn, age 81, of New Germany passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Funeral Service was held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with Rev. LeRoy LaPlant officiating; visitation from noon until the time of the service at church; interment Church Cemetery.
Nedra was born on March 4, 1932 in Young America Twp. the daughter of Erwin and Erna (Mehlhop) Herrmann. Nedra was baptized on March 27, 1932 by Rev. Otto Rapp and confirmed on April 14, 1946 at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hamburg by Rev. Vriesen. On May 24, 1951 Nedra was united in marriage to Vernon H. Domjahn at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hamburg by Rev. Vriesen.
Nedra enjoyed her years as a 4-H member and also Nedra attended grade school in District 41 and went on to Central High School graduating in 1950. She was also a member of the High School Band. Her first married years were spent as a farm wife until moving to New Germany in 1985, she continued to help at the farm until 1995. Nedra was employed at Dueber’s for over 30 years. She was often recognized as the “Dueber Lady.” Her hobbies included sewing and embroidery, listening to old tyme music, watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed their week vacation at the lake fishing. In 2004, her health issues caused her to become a resident at Waconia Good Samaritan Center where she lived until her death.
Nedra was preceded in death by her parents Erwin and Erna Herrmann; brother-in-law Harold Barlau; infant brother; father-in-law and mother-in-law Herbert and Hilda Domjahn.
Nedra is survived by her loving family: husband Vernon; children and spouses Cheryl and Jeff Hedtke of Norwood Young America, Sheldon Domjahn of New Germany, Sharlene and Philip Rehmann of Winsted; grandchildren Carrie (Matt) Vasecka, Kristina Domjahn; great-grandson Skyler Vasecka; sister Elrena Barlau of Plymouth, brother Dale Herrmann of Oakdale; nieces other relatives and friends.
Casket Bearers are Lowell Herrmann, Orrin Herrmann, Alan Herrmann, Harlan Mehlhop, Louie Graupmann, Steve Ostlie.
