Kenneth O. Felt
Kenneth O. “Ken” Felt, age 74, of Waconia, passed away Sunday April 7, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Church of Peace in Norwood Young America with Rev. Lynda Johnson officiating; interment Lakeview Cemetery in Waconia. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ken was born on Nov. 4, 1938 in Lyndale the son of Oscar and Ruby (Maas) Felt. Ken was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. On June 16, 1957 Ken was united in marriage to Shirley B. Briesemeister at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Ken was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He was on the Waconia Fire Department for over 20 years which he was very proud of. Ken was one of the first people in Waconia to own a snowmobile and was a member of the Waconia Sno-Goers Association. He started in the carpentry business with his grandfather and continued in that occupation throughout his life. He built the gazebo in the Waconia Park. Ken also was very handy working on small engines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping and just being in the outdoors with nature.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; son Kenneth Felt Jr.; father Oscar Felt; son-in-law Christopher Miller.
Ken is survived by his loving family: children and spouses Rick Felt of Waconia, Christa Felt of Norwood Young America, Roxanne and Mark Fick of Victoria, Randy Felt and special friend Dede Hoopman of Shakopee, Robin and Butch Tupy of Shakopee, Ronda Miller of Golden Valley, Russell Felt of Waconia, Kim and Bruce Grimm of Waconia; grandchildren Christian Wiesinger and fiancée Christine Kaytor, Charity Fick and special friend Kris Blankenship, Adam Fick, Angela Carr, Derrick and Jessica Degn, Jerrod Felt, Chenelle Felt and fiancé Roy Hoops, Ryan Gustafson, Ashley and Chris Berryman, Caitlin Kampen, Jill Tupy and special friend Nick Stilwel, Kristen Tupy and special friend Aaron Freeman, Danny Tupy, Chelsea Miller, Luke Miller, Dillon Felt, Preston Felt, Dustin and Breanna Grimm, Brandon Grimm, Breanna Grimm; great-grandchildren Josie, Alexis, Logan and Aiden; mother Ruby Felt of Watertown; sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Melvin Giese of Watertown; brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Judy Felt of Rochester; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
