Patricia (Dolly) Campbell

Patty Dolly Ogle Campbell, age 65 of Waverly, passed away peacefully at home Nov. 26, 2014 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends including her husband, sons, brothers, daughters-in law, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Born in Minneapolis, Nov. 14, 1949 to Harold and Marie Ogle, she grew up in Waverly and attended St. Marys Catholic School. She attended the University of Minnesota and continued her education at St. Cloud State University where she graduated with a degree in Special Education. During college she met and married her life partner, Joe Campbell on Sept. 6, 1969.
In addition to teaching special needs children in the Dassel-Cokato school system for 30 years, Patty was active in many organizations including the American Legion Auxiliary, Waverly Boosters, Lakeshore Association, Humphrey Memorial committee, Waverly Ambassador program and St. Marys Catholic Church.
With her career and life dedicated to improving the lives of youth, many of her challenges in committee work were directed toward young people. As a Legion Auxiliary officer, her main joy was recruiting young girls to attend Girls State each year.
At St. Marys parish, she started a project training high school students to videotape the Mass for playing to nursing home residents.
Patty was a driving force on the committee to create a memorial for Vice President Hubert Humphrey. Her family knew the Humphreys well and her inspiration for special education began when she babysat for a Humphrey grandchild who had Down Syndrome.
In 1994, she was asked to create a town royalty program for Waverlys 125 celebration. She has been dedicated to building the program ever since and was recognized by the Minneapolis Aquatennial this year for 20 years of leadership. She received many awards for teaching and volunteering over the years. Recently an article in the Herald Journal stated, Patty Campbell enjoys making her hometown of Waverly a good place to live.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James, sister Vivian and family friend Catherine Campion.
She is survived by her husband Joe; sons Zachary (Serenity), Sean (Jennifer); brothers Thomas (Maureen) and Michael Ogle; grandchildren Ofelia, Phoenix Joseph, Edan, Hugh, Harold and Helen Campbell and lifelong friend Mary Campion. Alfred was born on March 26, 1937 in Watertown Twp. the son of Alfred A. and Frieda (Hilk) Kuntz. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia. On Nov. 16, 1963 Alfred was united in marriage to Patricia A. Ward at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Mound.
Alfreds time here on earth consisted of him filling his friends and family up with love and generosity. There are many memories that we have with him. Alfred was part of the VFW and Legion and served overseas in the Army. He was best known for his carpenter skills. He and Floyd started Kuntz Brother Construction in 1971. They built the baptismal fount in church and were part of building beautiful homes and other projects in Waconia and surrounding cities. He enjoyed helping people with projects and could repair or fix anything that people had brought to him.
He loved his family very much. Tricias memories of her dad consist of him being at all of her sporting events growing up, and always saying yes when her mom would say no. Alfred spoiled his two grandchildren, Samantha and Emma, and never missed an opportunity to brag about how they played in their latest game to his friends and family. The house he built and the land he owned was very important to him. He spent most of his time in his garage working on new ways to improve his home.
Everyone knew that he was home when they would drive by and see his car, and two tractors parked outside the garage. A lot of friends and family remember Alfred in his white headband, shorts, no shirt on, and sweating.
One of his favorite hobbies was playing his concertina and being part of his concertina club in New Prauge. He spent many hours practicing and perfecting his music. You could always spark up a conversation with him by mentioning, polka, Molly B or Kelly Pickler.
He enjoyed cutting wood with Lyle and Floyd. His 58 Chevy won him numerous awards and was always show ready. His greatest enjoyment in the last few years of his life was fishing. He would spend countless hours on the lake with his fishing buddies. It was not uncommon for him to catch his limit, come home, drop the fish off and go back to the lake to catch some more! He could never have enough jiggle sticks or fillet knives.
He will always be remembered by family and friends as a very caring, generous, and passion filled person.

Dwayne J. DJ Krienke, age 68, of Mayer, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis.

Dwayne Julius Krienke was born on Oct. 3, 1946 in Waconia, Minn., the son of Howard E. and Eleanora L. (Bollmann) Krienke. He was baptized on Nov. 3, 1946 and later confirmed on April 10, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by Rev. Stehr. On June 13, 1970, Dwayne was united in marriage to Krystyna M. Jasinski at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by Rev. Stehr. This union was blessed with three daughters Darla, Debie, and Drucilla.
Dad took pride in his work. Retiring after 35 years from Wacholz Masonry in April, 2006. He served 20 years on the Mayer Fire Department. He loved his country, joining the U.S. Navy after high school. Dad was stationed on the USS Forrestal and was aboard the ship when it caught fire on July 29, 1967. The later part of his life he faithfully served his local VFW.
Dad had passion for many things. Many years of bowling leagues and tournaments, shooting darts for his church team. A devoted NASCAR fan. A fiercely competitive and more than once in a while, lucky card player. Hunting was one of his favorite things. He shot his fair share of game. No matter the season it was good for hunting. Even at 11 below, with the bullets barely firing oh how he longed for that Big Buck!
Whether nice and sunny or 10 degrees and 4 of ice, Dad loved to fish. Call it jiggling, casting, trolling or spearing. Dad caught what would bite or swim near his hole. If you had an interest or were just old enough to hold a pole, Dad would take you and teach you how to catch a dandy or keeper.
Dad loved his family above all things. Starting with Krys who fulfilled his love for pie, hot dish and most everything else. His girls were his world and those beautiful grand kids were his latest pride and joy. He enjoyed brotherly bonding and spending time with friends and extended family. If you caught Dad on a story telling day, no matter the story, stretched in inches or fragments of truth, he would beam ear to ear, head to toe with joy. Dad will remain forever in our hearts.
